Fallacy

Fallacy

Am I stupid enough to be an ornament on your tree
Am I everything you hoped they all would see
You’ve nothing to do tonight but sing to me your heartache lullaby
I will wake up in the cold again and open my eyes to this chagrin

You’re so big in your world that you can’t see mine
You can sip your tea, not think of me and later on have your wine
But eventually you’ll find that this fallacy you have of us
is that everything is just fine

Another conversation mysterious on your end
Some would-be communication out of my mouth right through the holes in your head
Here’s my righteous indignation there’s your aloof presentation
Wrapped up so well I could barely tell if you were real or only faking

You’re so big in your world that you can’t see mine You can sip your tea, not think of me and later on have your wine
But eventually you’ll find that this fallacy you have of us
is that everything is just fine

Just like this blank sheet of paper you lie
Anticipating my hands, my thoughts, and my time
But this lotus intoxication keeps it waiting
I’m going to keep you waiting, babe

You’re so big in your world that you can’t see mine
You can sip your tea, not think of me and later on have your wine
But eventually you’ll find that this fallacy you have of us
is that everything is just fine
